THE REVOLUTION IS MORE THAN WHISPERS
'The Winter Play' is about people who don't fit. The royal breakfast is tasty, the king and queen love each other, the servants are obedient and the butler is efficient – but a revolution is fomenting. The winter has gone on forever, it seems, and the revolution is more than whispers. But the foolish king and queen, their butler, the Writer, the sheep, the kelpie and the Narrator struggle -. the world turns, the snow melts, the daffodils appear and people and things begin to fit. Produced, written and directed by David Lander. Performed by members of the Derwent Valley community.
