The Bridge Art Prize 2025

Background

The Bridge Art Prize 2025 (The Bridge) is an exciting new community collaboration between Derwent Valley Arts, McConnell Dowell and its partner businesses currently building the New Bridgewater Bridge.

With a prize pool exceeding $36,000 and an acquisitive main prize of $25,000 The Bridge will be open to entries from across Tasmania when it launches on Wednesday 2 October.

The Bridge aims to celebrate and commemorate the construction of the Bridgewater Bridge, Tasmania’s largest ever transport infrastructure project through local, creative expressions of what The Bridge means to Tasmanians.

Equally important is The Bridge’s aim to raise funds for future youth art projects where experienced artists will work with young people with aspirations for arts careers along with a perpetual fund for future prizes.

We are asking Tasmanians to explore their relationship with The Bridge, directly or indirectly using a range of media including photography, painting, printmaking, graffiti, poetry, videography, animation, music, ceramics, textiles and sculpture.
