About DVA

Derwent Valley Arts is a community-based, volunteer-run organisation established to enhance Tasmania's Derwent Valley as a place to live by promoting the arts in our region.

Derwent Valley Arts works in partnership with artists, arts organisations, government, business and community to:

• Develop, deliver and promote a program of arts events for the Derwent Valley region.

• Establish a Derwent Valley Arts Centre.

• Encourage, promote and support arts based economic activities in the Derwent Valley.

Objectives:

• Work on short term, achievable arts events and projects with a view to exploring arts event opportunities.

• Build a community of interest.

• Pilot activities including exhibitions, film, theatre and performance.
